Three Do's

Do ask a family member or friend to accompany you (or inform them of the interview location)

Example: If the interview location is remote or you feel uneasy, it’s best to bring someone with you or let someone know where you’re going.

Do verify the authenticity and reasonableness of job postings

Example: Before applying, check whether the company is legally registered, and review if the salary and job description are realistic or contain vague or exaggerated claims.

Do research and understand the company you're applying to

Example: Look up the office address, confirm if the company has a physical presence, check online reviews, and see if there are any reports of fraud or negative feedback.


Seven Don'ts

Don’t pay any fees

Reject any request for upfront payments under any pretext, such as deposits, processing fees, or registration fees.

Don’t buy anything

Refuse to purchase any items required by the company, such as training materials, product packages, or equipment.

Don’t apply for a credit or stored-value card during the interview

Never agree to open a credit card or stored-value card as part of the application process.

Don’t sign unclear or unreasonable documents

Avoid signing any documents you don’t fully understand, including loan agreements or contracts.

Don’t hand over your personal documents

Keep your ID card, health insurance card, and ATM card with you at all times. Do not allow the company to "temporarily hold" them.

Don’t accept or consume drinks casually during interviews

Avoid drinking beverages offered by interviewers to prevent the risk of being drugged.

Don’t engage in illegal or borderline activities

Refuse any work that may be unlawful or questionable, such as using your account as a money mule, helping with unauthorized fund transfers, or identity lending.


Employers are prohibited from posting false or misleading job advertisements.

If you suspect a company has published fraudulent job postings, you may file a complaint via the Taipei City Citizen Petition System (dial 1999) for the Department of Labor to investigate.
